Cape Tribulation

Took a tour yesterday to Cape Tribulation, which is about 60 miles up the cost from Cairns... First stop off was at the Daintree River for a boat cruise looking for Crocs... I was pretty excited about this and got even more excited when as you boarded your given a cup of local Daintree Brewed tea.. Quite surreal watching for Crocs whilst sipping a cuppa.. Saw one male croc about a metre long... But apparently the famous croc in that section of the Daintree (They've named him scar face) had submerged cause the previous tour boat had got too close...

There were some Americans on board talking to loudly and demanding that the boat got closer for them to take pictures... Was tempted just to nudge one overboard just to see if it tempted ole scarface to rise from the bottom.

From there went onto Marrdja Rainforest walk, amazing place... such a vast amount of wildlife... and loads of mozzies... From there to cape trib... and the most fantastic beach ever.... white sands, bright blue sky, Stingray warning... all very picturesque... got some good pics will post them as soon as I figure out how... From there we went to the Mossman Gorge, a huge natural swimming hole (no crocs) absolutely peaceful and relaxing... then onto Port Douglas... great little town... the thing that is amazing me the most is the nice everyone is and not in a false way...

To to add: I mentioned the americans earlier... here's something to justify pushing one of them in...

Cairns has no beach, it does have a coast line, but instead of blue water and white sand you have just a muddy mess of land. Now this never use to be the case- 60 years ago it was a haven... until WWII when the Yanks turned up with there warships, and cause the couldn't get into the bay (two shallow) they dredged up tonnes of mud to create a canal so the warships could pass freely... but unsure where to dump the mud they just left it on cairns beach completely destroying the natural habitat and ruining the beach forever... bit anti American but when you see the mess its left its quite upsetting... ahem....
